In my attempt to get an idea of what Andrea wanted for her wedding dress, we worked closely on some sketches. She knew she wanted loose layers of draping fabric that looked almost flowery. My first idea was for the dress to be almost a wrap style, with the loosely folded pieces over the bodice.
After some more consideration, she decided she wanted a simple bodice, with a circular neck piece that wrapped around to the back. She knew she wanted to incorporate ruffles somewhere on the dress, so we decided that vertical ruffles running up and down the bodice would be attractive and flattering. We began with the vision of it having ruffle sleeves, but since then, that has changed.
The back will have functional covered buttons running down the center back seam.
This was another rendition of the folded flowery look. We decided a layer of this along the bottom of the dress would be the best option. The skirt will be a layer of satin covered in a layer of thin sheer organza, and the ornate hem will be satin.
